1. What this covers
This policy explains what personal information collects, why, and what choices you have. We follow the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) of Ghana.
2. What we collect
- Account details: your name and email address. Your password is handled by Google Firebase Authentication. We never see or store it in readable form.
- Ad details: the title, description, category, price, location, photos, and the WhatsApp number you enter when you post an ad.
- Saved ads: the ads you add to your wishlist.
- Technical data: basic information your browser sends, such as your IP address and device type, which our service providers may record to keep the site running and secure.
- Messages to us: what you send us when you contact us for help.
3. How we use it
- To create your account, log you in, and reset your password.
- To show your ads and let buyers contact you.
- To review ads, prevent scams and abuse, and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
- To answer your questions and improve the site.
We don't sell your personal information.
4. Who can see it
Public: when your ad is live, anyone can see its title, description, price, location, photos, your name as the seller, and your WhatsApp number. That's how buyers reach you. Don't put a number or details in your ad that you're not happy to share publicly.
Private: your email address and wishlist are visible only to you and to site administrators who need them to run the service.
We may share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users.
5. Services we use
We use trusted providers to run the site. They process data for us under their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase for login, and for storing ads, profiles and wishlists.
- Cloudinary for storing and delivering ad photos.
- WhatsApp when a buyer clicks "Contact via WhatsApp". That conversation then takes place on WhatsApp and is covered by its terms and privacy policy.
These providers may store data on servers outside Ghana.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account while it is active. Ads and their information are kept while the ad is live, and until you or an administrator delete it. Photos may remain with our photo host for a while after an ad is deleted. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal information unless the law requires us to keep some of it.
7. Your rights
Under Ghana's Data Protection Act you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it, and you can object to how we use it. You can edit or delete your own ads at any time from My Ads. For anything else, contact us using the details below.
8. Security
We use reputable providers and access rules so that people can only see and change what they are allowed to. No website can promise perfect security, so please use a strong password and don't share it.
9. Cookies and storage
We use your browser's local storage to keep you logged in (and to remember the "Remember me" choice). We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy.
10. Children
is not meant for people under 18. If you think a child has given us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. For important changes, we'll tell you on the site.
